This research aims to identify and analyze the essential standards for developing e-learning courses designed for preschool and kindergarten children, and the mechanisms for delivering them remotely through a virtual kindergarten environment, based on the standards of the National Center for e-Learning. The research problem addresses the significant deficiency in applying quality control standards in e-courses directed at this critical age group, and their insufficient alignment with the developmental and educational needs specific to kindergarten children. The study employed a descriptive analytical methodology through examining national standards documents and studying a representative sample of currently implemented e-courses, in addition to conducting in-depth interviews with experts specialized in both early childhood education and e-learning content development.
The research findings revealed six core standards that must be adopted when developing e-courses for kindergarten children: instructional design compatible with developmental characteristics, interactive electronic elements that capture and maintain children's attention, equity and accessibility for all groups, age-appropriate assessment and measurement methods, technical quality and reliability, and facilitated technical support and guidance. The study also presented a comprehensive practical framework for designing virtual kindergarten environments and mechanisms for effectively implementing courses through them, with particular emphasis on strategies to engage and support parents and ensure children's safety in the digital environment. The research concluded with specific recommendations including the necessity of requiring content developers to adhere to national standards, the critical importance of involving early childhood experts throughout all development stages, and the urgent need to establish specialized quality standards specifically for virtual kindergarten environments that address the unique characteristics of this developmental stage.
