The reality of the application of micro-learning in teaching and learning - a systematic study.

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the reality of application microlearning in teaching and learning, through identifying the main problems, that have been discussed through the studies that deals with the application microlearning in teaching and learning, the samples, methodologies and the main results of these studies. The research was confined to the period from 2015-2021, and it was reached to identify (11) studies in English, and (8) studies in Arabic. Basu model (2017) was followed to analyze (19) previous study systematically. The results revealed that these studies were interested in defining the microlearning, its characteristic and the main microlearning platforms: Grovo, Coursmos, and Yammer. These studies combined between quasi-experimental and descriptive analytical methodologies. The results also showed the relationship between microlearning and many psychological and educational theories such as: constructivism, connectivism, segmentation, and situated learning. The previous studies reviewed the application of microlearning in different educational environments, according to multiple variables, and the appropriateness of applying microlearning in school education and university education. The results showed the effectiveness of applying microlearning in different educational environments in developing multiple variables related to teaching and learning.
