Abstract

ABSTRACT

The current study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of visual blogging (video blog) in the flipped classroom on achievement and developing visual thinking skills of middle school female students in Jeddah city. This research used the descriptive analytical method by reviewing previous literature and studies to prepare research tools and experimental treatment, then the experimental method also was applied to test the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variables. The quasi-experimental design included a pre and post achievement tests and an observation card for visual thinking skills. The sample was chosen randomly and consisted of 20 female students in ninth grade during the second semester of the academic year 1443. The results of the study indicated statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group, besides acquiring visual thinking skills based on the observation card. The results showed the effectiveness of visual blogging (video blog) on achievement and developing visual thinking skills of middle school female students while using it in the flipped classroom.
