The effect of cues pattern (Audio/Visual/Audio-Visual) in A Multimedia Electronic Book On Developing The Skills Of Producing Educational Graphics And Reducing The Cognitive Load Of Educational Technology Students

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to develop the skills of producing educational graphics and reduce the cognitive Load of educational technology students by studying the effect of the pattern of cues (audio/visual/audio-visual) in a multimedia electronic book. The research sample consisted of 60 students from the second year of the Education Technology Division, 20 students per experimental group according to the experimental design of the research. The treatment material consisted of three multimedia e-books,The difference between them in the pattern of cues (audio/visual/audio-visual),to investigate the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared a set of tools, which is an achievement test to measure the cognitive aspect, Observation card to measure the performance aspect of the skills of producing educational graphics, and the cognitive load reduction scale for (Helmi El-Fil), The results showed the effectiveness of the patterns of cues (audio/visual/audio-visual) in the multimedia electronic books in developing the skills of producing educational graphics and reducing the cognitive load of students, and the greatest effect was in favor of the pattern of cues (audio-visual) in the multimedia electronic book., In light of the results, the researcher recommends taking advantage of the use of cues (visual, audio, and audio-visual) in multimedia electronic books to develop the knowledge and skills of students at different academic levels.
