Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the effect of using electronic sketch notes to develop creative thinking skills fluency, flexibility, originality in a computer course at second year of secondary school. The research was conducted according to the quasi-experimental method with a single group. The sample consisted of thirty female students from the second year of secondary school. The Torrance Scale of Creative Thinking, which includes multiple skills such as fluency, flexibility, and originality, was used to collect data. The scale was applied to the study sample before and after the application of the experiment, in order to measure the effect of electronic sketch notes on the development of creative thinking skills. In addition, the study prepared a handbook guide on electronic sketch notes in order to guide teachers and students to the basics of good blogging. The paired sample t-test and Cohen's D equation were used to determine the effect size of the independent variable represented in electronic sketch notes and the dependent variable represented in creative thinking. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (05.) between the average scores of the students in the Torrance test of creative thinking, pre and post, in favor of the post-test. The results also found a significant impact of the use of the electronic sketch notes method in the development of creative thinking. The research comes up with important suggestions, such as using electronic sketch notes in the early stages of general education in different classes
