Abstract

The current research aims to develop the skills of using smart classrooms in teaching and the trend towards them among faculty members. The research relied on the quasi-experimental approach to reveal the effect of e-training on developing cognitive and skill aspects and the trend towards using smart classrooms in teaching. To achieve the research objective, the researcher designed three tools to measure cognitive aspects (cognitive test), skill aspects (observation card), and (scale of the trend towards using smart classrooms in teaching). The validity and reliability of these tools were verified using appropriate statistical methods. The research sample consisted of (26) faculty members at King Khalid University. After applying the research experiment and implementing the pre- and post-application of the research measurement tools, then conducting statistical treatments and extracting and discussing the results; The results showed the presence of statistically significant differences in favor of the post-applications of the measurement tools. The size of the effect is very large in the cognitive and skill aspects of the research sample, with positive attitudes towards using smart classrooms in teaching in general. The research then recommended a set of recommendations, including holding training courses and workshops to raise the university level of university faculty members on smart classrooms, digital skills, learning objects, and learning repositories.
